Overview
As a Project Designer II, you’ll play a key role in supporting architectural and engineering projects that focus on improving and extending the life of existing facilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges through technical precision, thoughtful analysis, and collaboration. You’ll contribute to all project phases—from design development to documentation—while also participating in facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, and master planning efforts that shape the future of public and institutional campuses. Working alongside architects, engineers, and project managers, you’ll help translate real-world conditions into clear, coordinated solutions that support long‑term performance and planning. This role offers opportunities to deepen your technical expertise, gain field experience, and engage in meaningful work that blends design, strategy, and problem‑solving.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the Project Managers and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production.
Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production.
Assist the Project Architects with preparing and formatting technical specifications.
Prepare meeting minutes.
Collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
Participate in on‑site facility condition assessments.
Assist other team members in preparing technical reports.
Participate in design and constructability reviews.
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
Utilize hand rendering and sketching techniques to communicate design concepts and ideas.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred
5+ years of related project experience
Ability to provide a portfolio or technical drawings during the interview process
Proficiency in drafting using 3D software; Revit is required
Proficiency in drafting 2D software; AutoCAD is preferred
Proficiency in modeling using 3D software (SketchUp, Max, Rhino)
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams)
Knowledge of Excel using formulas is a plus
Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
Knowledge of building systems and construction methods is a plus
LEED accreditation is a plus
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software
Knowledge and Skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to foster and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Effective organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

Physical Requirement

The position may require sitting for long periods of time.
The employee may frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
Travel Requirement
Travel may be required based on project needs.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
You will be regularly working in a climate‑controlled office environment.
In this role, you will be visiting project sites from time to time and may be exposed to active construction, both inside and outside, and experience various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment. The noise level in these areas may vary from moderate to loud.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $80,000 - $98,500. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
