Client is seeking an experienced IT Applications Engineer III - Mobile (Android, Java) to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality native Android applications. This individual contributor role will support application engineers in building robust, scalable mobile solutions that deliver excellent user experiences for millions of Healthcare members. You'll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment, applying clean architecture principles and best practices for mobile security and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
Apply clean architecture and design patterns such as MVVM for maintainability and scalability.
Write automated UI tests using Espresso; integrate into CI/CD pipelines for quality assurance.
Manage app build and signing workflows, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, and build flavors.
Integrate third‑party libraries and SDKs such as Firebase, analytics, and maps.
Consume and integrate RESTful APIs, ensuring robust authentication, caching, and error handling.
Collaborate with UX, Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless delivery of mobile features.
Integrate content from Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other headless CMS platforms.
Stay current with Android tools, SDKs, and industry trends to ensure apps remain secure and modern.
Adhere to mobile security and compliance standards, ensuring protection of sensitive data.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years programming experience in Java/Kotlin for Android.
2+ years experience in automated testing with Espresso (Android) or XCUITest (iOS).
3+ years experience managing native mobile build and signing workflows (e.g., build variants, certificates, entitlements).
3+ years experience integrating third‑party SDKs or source code.
3+ years experience integrating APIs and services.
2+ years experience working with CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
1+ year experience developing and/or implementing mobile applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing for both Android and iOS platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Fastlane, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, and mobile security practices.
Experience in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
