Recruiting Supervisor @ Koch Inc | Identifying Talent for Georgia‑Pacific Your Job Georgia‑Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization is seeking a Category Leader to optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) for Caustic Soda. This role will be responsible for building an in‑depth category and market POV’s, developing the category strategy and managing key drivers of the category spend, including setting the contract and pricing strategy, cost reduction initiatives, and demand management plan. The Category Leader for Caustic will also align with Business & Operations leaders to advance the business vision through category priorities, and partner with others to execute on the opportunities identified. The Category Leader for Caustic Soda will be part of the broader Chemicals category sourcing team within the SS&P organization. This role is based in GP Center in downtown Atlanta. You will enjoy a hybrid schedule of remote and office days.
Our Team Georgia‑Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization is responsible for the strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of the critical supplies and materials that support 140+ locations across the US. The SS&P organization is currently undergoing an exciting transformation where we are partnering with our business partners and leveraging best practices to build internal capabilities that uniquely position the team to improve decision making capabilities and capture significant savings and efficiency opportunities. What You Will Do
Develop, communicate, and execute a clear category vision and strategy aligned with Business, Operations, and Sourcing leadership to maximize value creation.
Conduct comprehensive market intelligence activities: collect, analyze, and interpret global supply market data, competitor behavior, price‑setting mechanisms, and benchmark the competitive landscape to identify risks and opportunities.
Apply category management expertise (should‑cost, value chain, economic and financial analysis) to drive actionable insights, frame Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and execute strategies with intelligent risk‑taking.
Own and monitor category spend, supplier base, savings, adherence to strategy, and develop/manage price change mechanisms consistent with contracts and category needs.
Lead negotiations aligned with business risk tolerance to secure optimal terms and drive savings.
Manage supplier relationships end‑to‑end, including supplier development, dispute resolution, performance management, risk identification, quantification, and mitigation.
Drive cross‑functional collaboration by leading category customer relationship management, steering category teams, and fostering alignment among Koch company stakeholders.
Champion transformation and change management by facilitating the implementation of step‑change initiatives that significantly improve business performance.
Demonstrate strong curiosity, proactive problem‑solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
At least 5 years of experience in managing total cost of ownership (TCO) and/or P&L ownership across multiple spend and/or product categories.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing best‑practice market processes re: category strategies/points‑of‑view (POV’s), competitive bidding/benchmarking, should‑cost analysis, price‑setting mechanisms.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Ability to travel at least 10‑25%.
What Will Put You Ahead
Proven track record in delivering year‑over‑year cost savings and driving cost reduction and transformative change projects.
Sourcing / Category Management, Consulting, or Finance experience.
Prior P&L responsibilities.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Advanced Degree or MBA.
