We are looking for a well‑versed Continuous Improvement Engineer that shares a passion for not being satisfied with the status quo. The ideal candidate will be confident and motivated to pursue positive change and work with employees in facilitating recommended changes. A successful Continuous Improvement Engineer will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives across the organization to increase efficiency and enhance product quality. This role will be required to work closely with cross‑functional teams to drive operational excellence. An ideal candidate would have exposure in creating and directing data‑driven continuous improvement projects, achieved through team‑based initiatives and with a particular focus on driving ownership and accountability.

Essential Functions

Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction.

Assists in the development and implementation of new or improved manufacturing methods, set‑up reductions, productivity improvements, throughput improvements and variable cost improvements.

Analyze, establish, and communicate performance standards to all manufacturing supervisors, leaders and employees.

Meet with employees, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges; thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement and contributing towards becoming a learning organization. Educate members of the team about the relationship between their work and achieving project and company objectives.

Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions.

Measurement and validation of the effectiveness of implemented process improvements or continuous improvement efforts.

Support digital transformation and automation initiatives where applicable.

Reviews technical problems and provides solutions.

Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices.

Assesses product and process related risk to ensure quality assurance is integrated in the manufacturing planning and execution of the job.

Will serve as a Company representative during relevant customer and third‑party audits.

Leads and performs internal audits; serves as a Company in‑house expert in AS 9100; and advises management regarding the Company’s operating practices.

Communicate and direct resolution of significant quality‑related technical problems to peers and senior management.

Must be able to communicate directly with engineers, project managers, and not limited to customer source inspectors along with third‑party source inspectors.

Generates nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.

Interpret complicated aerospace drawings and specifications.

Exercises discretion and independent judgment to solve customer‑related issues to ensure the successful execution of programs.

Ensure and monitor process controls.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Formal Education & Certification Required:

5-7 years’ experience in Aerospace manufacturing or related field of work in a performance or technical job function.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Diversified Aerospace manufacturing background is preferred.

Experienced with inspection of complex machined parts including the understanding of GD&T is a plus.

Knowledge & Experience

High proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T standards.

Must be organized and adept at weighing and managing priorities is key for a successful continuous improvement.

Strong basis of machine shop measuring equipment.

Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/MRP and estimating software experience a plus.

Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace manufacturing quality standards.

Process‑oriented mindset with the ability to develop and follow standardized procedures.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences, including engineers, shop floor personnel, and management.

Ability to work effectively with varied personality types in a team‑oriented environment.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with ERP/MRP systems and estimating software is a plus.

A strong drive to learn and grow with the company, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Keen at analyzing and synthesizing information when determining how a current process can be improved.

Ability to work on‑site 5 days a week.

Understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and inspection requirements.

Understanding of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100) is beneficial.

Additional Requirements

This position requires the use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.

Work Conditions

40‑hour minimum onsite work week with on‑call availability.

Sitting for extended periods of time.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
