The Senior Fire Protection Engineer will lead the design work on multi‑discipline projects and prepare comprehensive fire protection packages including fire suppression, alarm, smoke management, and life safety solutions. This position works on a diverse portfolio of project types and clients. Responsibilities

Lead the design, specification, and multi‑discipline coordination of fire protection systems such as wet‑pipe, dry‑pipe, pre‑action, deluge, foam/water and other suppression systems. Design fire water supply infrastructure including storage tanks, pumps, distribution piping and associated equipment. Develop outdoor fire suppression solutions, including monitors and spray systems, ensuring exposure protection. Specify and coordinate addressable and non‑addressable fire alarm systems with initiation devices, supervision devices, and notification appliances. Perform release system specifications for pre‑action, foam/water, and clean agent systems. Quality review fire protection calculations including hydraulic analyses, battery calculations and voltage drops. Evaluate building and life safety requirements such as occupancy classifications, fire‑resistive assemblies, and smoke management systems. Coordinate construction administration, resolve design installation issues, review contractor shop drawings, and conduct field inspections and system testing. Lead site evaluations and documentation of existing fire protection systems. Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications. Build effective relationships with clients, contractors and develop new business opportunities. Manage sales and marketing activities and identify key pursuits. Ensure customer satisfaction goals are met and maintained. Develop cost proposals, qualification statements, and project budgets to achieve financial targets. Lead and mentor the fire protection practice team. Ensure QA/QC processes and safety policy compliance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related ABET‑accredited program with 7 years experience. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 7 years experience (alternative path). Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering with 6 years experience. Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques, building codes, NFPA standards, FM Global datasheets, military standards, and industrial API guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Critical thinking, analytical problem‑solving abilities. Leadership experience in design teams. Access authorization capability to DOE, aerospace, military, food & consumer product, pharmaceutical and other regulated facilities. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. NICET certification in Water‑Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems or Special Hazard Systems preferred. EEO/Disabled/Veterans
