The Construction Estimator will play a key role in the preconstruction and estimating process—leading bid preparation, cost analysis, and budgeting for
multi‑family housing projects . The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and experienced in developing accurate, competitive estimates for both new construction and renovation of apartment complexes, townhomes, and mixed‑use residential developments. This position requires strong communication and relationship‑building skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for multi‑family housing projects, including both ground‑up and renovation work
Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and documents to determine project scope and requirements
Solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and comprehensive coverage
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers during design and preconstruction phases
Analyze historical data, market trends, and current pricing to maintain accurate cost databases
Participate in design‑assist and value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency and cost‑effectiveness
Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the growth of the preconstruction team
Qualifications
3+ years of estimating experience within the construction industry, preferably focused on multi‑family housing projects
Proven ability to estimate wood‑frame, podium, and mixed‑use developments
Strong understanding of residential construction means, methods, and cost structures
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
