Munters
Overview
Munters is a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical processes. We offer innovative, efficient and sustainable solutions for customers in industries where controlling indoor humidity, temperature and energy efficiency is mission-critical. Climate control systems often account for a large percentage of the energy consumption in many of our customers' operations. With an optimal climate system, we can help them to more efficiently use energy or water resources, and thereby reduce their climate and environmental impact. Sustainability is an important part of Munters' business strategy and value creation. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where interns are valued members of the team and are given meaningful projects to work on.
Responsibilities
Conduct fundamental and applied research into two-phase thermal management technologies for high-power electronics.
Drive innovation in the design of next-generation direct-to-chip fluid delivery systems.
Utilize advanced thermal modeling techniques (e.g., CFD) and create new computational models to simulate and predict two-phase heat transfer phenomena such as nucleate boiling and condensation.
Design and execute laboratory experiments, leveraging advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems to validate models and evaluate performance.
Investigate the physical and chemical properties of working fluids such as low GWP refrigerants, focusing on material compatibility, degradation, and environmental impact.
Collaborate with engineering teams to transfer research findings into new products and intellectual property.
Present research findings internally on a quarterly basis.
Actively involve with the top-tier conference committee and promote Munters technology as an industry leader.
Develop and maintain heat transfer or refrigerant cycle simulation tools by providing equations, correlations and other numerical methods.
Required Education and Experience
M. S. in Mechanical Engineering specializing in thermal dynamics or a related field.
5+ years of experience in thermal science or fluid dynamics research, with a strong emphasis on two-phase heat transfer, boiling, and condensation.
In-depth, theoretical, and practical knowledge of two-phase cooling principles, including thermosyphons and pumped two-phase systems.
Proficiency in advanced modeling and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB).
Hands-on experience designing and running experiments in a lab setting, with expertise in advanced data analysis.
Strong understanding of fluid chemistry, material science, and their application to thermal management systems.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Benefits
Competitive Salary
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
Flexible work schedule
Generous vacation and paid time off
401K retirement savings plan with employer matching
Professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, and conference attendance
Company-sponsored social events and team-building activities
