Full-Time is Monday-Friday, dayshift

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants.

BASIC FUNCTION :

Responsible for facilitating individual and group therapy to individuals with trauma, affective mood disorders, co-occurring or substance use complications. Groups are held Monday through Friday. The group therapist will facilitate group therapy topics that are able to generalize to each member’s needs. Responsible for providing direct patient care to adult’s ages -+ that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the Department of Clinical Care Management. Responsible for conducting the intake and psychosocial assessments, case management activities, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention and participating as an active member of the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline from an accredited graduate school

A Graduate Clinical Licensure in District of Columbia required (LGPC / LPC / LGSW)

Minimum one to two years’ experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting; some portion of which must have included treatment of substance use and Trauma conditions;

Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake / admission procedures, experience working with third party payers preferred, but not required. Experience in outpatient, inpatient and partial hospital work preferred
