Salary:

A: $4,695 – $6,173 per year; B: $5,805 – $7,632 per year (see range)

Overview Under the close supervision of an Administrator, the incumbent will perform technical analysis in the resolution of granting, denying, and revoking tax exemption to corporations, unincorporated associations, and trusts in accordance with the law. The incumbent will examine exempt returns when necessary, manage inventory, and conduct a complete review of applications, including effective scope of examination, development of facts and evidence, closing working papers, and correct technical conclusions.

Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis for resolution of granting, denying, and revoking tax exemption to corporations, unincorporated associations, and trusts in accordance with the law.

Examine exempt returns when necessary.

Manage inventory and conduct a complete review of applications, developing facts and evidence, closing working papers, and producing correct technical conclusions.

Support additional positions that may become available (RPA 2526-00798).

Qualifications

Knowledge of Federal and State tax laws.

Knowledge of auditing, conducting financial examinations, or conducting tax research.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others and obtain cooperation.

Excellent analytical skills, including ability to use good judgment when analyzing data and situations, draw sound conclusions, and take effective action.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to be flexible in response to changing workloads and priorities.

Ability to manage workload and meet specific deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality for cases with inherent sensitivity.

Ability to collaborate with other staff in person while in the office.

Experience with receiving and using data and information in an electronic format.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Energetic with a positive attitude.
