Role Overview The On‑Site Application Engineer CO‑OP is to provide support of the End‑User Aftermarket Application Engineering team and local Sales Engineers in various business activities related to mechanical seals, seal support systems, and pumps. Activities include supporting completion of equipment surveys and data acquisition for rotating equipment at customer facilities, completing as‑found condition reports on failed components, researching application specific information, and supporting key initiatives as designated by local management. The role is a full‑time in‑person position located in Corpus Christi, TX, Monday through Friday 8 am‑5 pm for a sophomore or junior student, beginning January 2026 through August 2026. The student will be required to take a semester off of classes.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Support the equipment survey process and Flowstar.net program.
Support inventory survey and consolidation efforts.
Support daily advancements toward the agreed‑upon objectives set forth by the Engineering Manager.
Examine failed products and provide both written and oral explanations to responsible Flowserve personnel.
Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.
Develop and maintain working relationships with Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, Regional Reliability Engineer, and Engineering Manager.
Attend and support meetings as designated by management.
Support key initiatives supporting the local Flowserve Quick Response Center.
Position Requirements
BS in Engineering enrollment in good standing at an accredited university.
Good communication skills and computer skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft programs (a must).
Ability to utilize measuring equipment (e.g., dial calipers, micrometers).
Demonstrates mechanical aptitude.
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self‑directed environment.
Ability to learn quickly and develop good troubleshooting skills.
Strong work ethic with positive attitude.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to travel occasionally within the Gulf Coast Region.
