Manager for AI, Analytics and Digital
Role: Manager for AI, Analytics and Digital, within External and Corporate Relations Communication & Content (ECRCM) of the World Bank Group. This position manages a multidisciplinary team to drive AI integration, data‑informed content strategy, and creative output for ECR.
Key Responsibilities
AI, Measurement, Data, and Analytics: oversee integration of AI into the ECR ecosystem, including media monitoring, measurement and analytics, and content performance across channels; champion responsible use of AI to automate routine tasks and enhance analysis; establish KPIs and a framework for evaluating communication effectiveness; present regular reports on content engagement to senior leadership.
Content Strategy & Insights: develop and implement a content strategy informed by data analytics and audience research; leverage content performance data and trends, including AI‑driven insights, to guide editorial calendars and creative priorities; use storytelling through data to enhance engagement and refine content approaches.
Creative Services Oversight: lead the creative services team (designers, writers, multimedia producers) to produce high‑quality visual and written content aligned with strategic goals; integrate new technologies and tools—including AI‑driven content tools—to improve content creation and audience engagement; ensure all creative output meets brand standards and effectively communicates key messages.
Translation Services: modernize translation platforms across the WBG (including AI‑assisted translation tools) to improve efficiency and consistency in multilingual content delivery while upholding rigorous quality control.
Research Communications: collaborate with research teams to distill technical reports and data‑heavy findings into accessible content for external audiences; develop communications strategies for effectively deploying major research publications, including summaries, infographics, and media briefs that highlight key insights.
Cross‑Team Collaboration: work closely with other ECRCM communications managers to align content themes and ensure that data/insights inform broader campaigns; champion innovative content formats (interactive media, data visualizations) to increase audience engagement; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the World Bank Group’s content strategy remains forward‑thinking yet risk‑aware.
Selection Criteria
Advanced degree in data science, information technology, communications, or related fields, and 12 to 15 years of substantial professional experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility. Direct background in data science and AI is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interpret data to drive decision‑making in content creation. Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g. web analytics, social media insights, SEO metrics) and experience establishing measurement frameworks. Comfort with data visualization and using insights to tell a story is essential.
Proven experience integrating emerging technologies into content workflows. Familiarity with AI tools for content creation or analysis is essential. Knowledge of generative AI trends in digital content and an ability to lead and advise on AI‑driven initiatives would be a strong plus.
Experience managing creative teams and projects – from concept through execution. Strong eye for quality content (writing and design) and the ability to guide creatives to align with strategic messaging.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Adept at coordinating across different functional teams to deliver integrated content products.
Outstanding communication and writing skills. Able to translate complex information (e.g., data or research) into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences. Capable of articulating insights and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience working in multicultural or international environments. Familiarity with translation/localization processes and sensitivity to how content may need to be adapted for different cultural contexts.
A proactive approach to exploring new content formats and platforms. Stays current with industry trends in content marketing, digital media, and analytics to continually innovate the organization’s content strategy. An openness to AI as an evolving tool in communications—combined with sound judgment about its limitations and ethical use— is essential.
