Production Specialist - Block 1 - Packaging is a full-time role at Grande Cheese Company (Grande Custom Ingredients Group). The position supports dairy production, packaging, equipment operations, intake, and receiving & inventory/warehouse activities within a High Performance Work Team (HPWT) structure. Responsibilities include producing and delivering product according to company specifications, quality and safety objectives, and participating in continuous improvement through the Skill Block model. Hours and Shift: 6AM - 6PM; 2/2/3 Schedule. Pay Range: Starting at $21.50 per hour. Night shift premium $3.00 (6pm – 6am) and weekend shift premium $2.25 (Saturday and Sunday). When working in Dairy Production: carry out a variety of production duties from preparatory to critical stage processes such as loading and unloading, setup and monitoring of equipment, stirring/mixing, cooking, testing, analyzing, inspecting, final preparation, recording data and providing feedback to Process Leaders. Set up, monitor, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment; make adjustments as needed to accommodate weight, temperature, time and sensory changes. Ensure production runs efficiently and processes follow Grande and regulatory standards. When working in Packaging: operate packaging equipment and ensure continuous flow of product; ensure proper execution of processes for diversity of products and multiple product lines. Monitor for proper positioning, spacing, sealing, and correct codes/labels. Independently make decisions to correct and prevent issues in a timely manner. Perform visual inspection for defects and rework or discard defective products. Set up, calibrate, make adjustments, troubleshoot and perform general maintenance to packaging equipment. When working in Equipment Operations: operate, inspect, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot dairy manufacturing equipment; perform preventive/general maintenance as needed to ensure optimal performance. Closely monitor instruments and equipment to ensure processes move correctly and overall production is efficient. Perform sampling and testing related to temperatures, moisture, consistency, fat, protein, pH, and record data appropriately. When working in Intake: coordinate unloading of milk from trucks and transfer to proper storage, following Grande and regulatory procedures to ensure quality and safety of milk for production. Prevent expired milk by prioritizing and unloading trailers in the correct order; verify seals, wash tags, and weights from farm pick-up slips; properly agitate and collect milk samples for quality testing and payments. Load out cream, whey and milk from storage for processing. Monitor equipment, temperatures, and sanitation to ensure milk quality. Maintain inventory and order supplies (e.g., seals, filters) to keep production running smoothly. Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot intake equipment and perform general maintenance as needed. When working in Receiving & Inventory/Warehouse: handle receiving from approved suppliers in line with contracts; inspect trailers for damage, contaminants, temperature, insects, etc. Unload and inspect incoming materials; store and account for items. Assist packaging operations to prepare pallets for transfer and storage; coordinate internal transfers with other facilities. Coordinate outbound shipments (customer and transfer orders, bill of lading, pick lists, sample requirements, and related documents). Analyze storage locations for efficiency and use FIFO to keep products moving and tracked. Receive and store chemicals per HAACP/FIFO with MSDS paperwork; operate forklifts and perform routine maintenance; conduct cycle counts and investigate discrepancies. Provide input on supplier service, delivery times, and quality issues. Sanitation: perform sanitation of production areas and equipment (vats, conveyors, machines, tanks, pipes, etc.), including cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly to remove debris. Maintain a clean working area to prevent contamination. Follow all safety policies and procedures (food & workplace). Regulatory Compliance & Safety: complete required documentation and reporting per laws and regulatory agencies (e.g., DNR, FDA, OSHA, SQF, USDA). Additional Responsibilities: complete required paperwork and data entry into ERP and related systems; understand processes and make independent decisions affecting product quality; follow company policies; assist with training new Associates; provide back-up relief; offer recommendations for quality, safety, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings; obtain and renew licenses/certifications as needed. Qualifications & Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred. Prior related work experience and/or training in a food manufacturing organization is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Math, reading, and writing; ability to follow technical instructions/policies/procedures; computer skills. Seniority level
