Patient Care Coordinator.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

Day Shift

Department Description The Digestive Health Center at UW Medical Center - Montlake offers a full range of consultations and procedures for the care of digestive disorders and problems of the gastrointestinal system. Conditions treated include abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease, swallowing disorders, celiac disease, nutrition disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts, and functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Schedule for all main campuses- Northwest, OPMC, and Montlake

Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty

Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow‑up patient appointments

Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen

Coordinate anesthesia

Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care

Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician

Enter appointment information in online appointment system

Coordinate pre‑admission tests and procedures

Schedule and ensure pre‑anesthesia works‑ups are completed

Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medical staff, and Admitting

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field

Two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families, interaction with physicians, and proficiency in medical terminology

OR, an equivalent combination of education/experience

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum:

$52,164.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$74,676.00 annual
