Typical Day As a Tax Professional, you will conduct client interviews—face‑to‑face or via virtual tools such as video, phone, chat, and email—prepare complete and accurate tax returns, generate business growth through product and service offerings, and provide IRS client support.
Responsibilities
Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email.
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
Provide clients with IRS support.
Mentor and support teammates.
Ensure successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
Experience with tax planning and audit support.
Sales and/or marketing experience.
Must meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment and using virtual tools.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and in writing.
