Staff Test Electrical Engineer of Test Systems

The Staff Test Electrical Engineer of Test Systems will participate in all phases of testing avionics flight and ground hardware for E‑Space satellites. You will work collaboratively with engineers of various disciplines to develop the automated test framework for satellite avionics and systems including test methods, custom PCBAs, harnesses, and other hardware, and ultimately support the rigorous flight‑like testing of satellite hardware.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in custom electronics design and testing. This position will report to the Test Engineering Lead and will work closely with the Test, Electrical, and Systems Engineering teams. The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.
What you’ll be doing:
Own the custom functional test equipment design from clean sheet to flight hardware production test.
Develop functional test PCBA and other hardware requirements, architectures, and con‑ops in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
Schematic capture and PCB layout of power, digital, and analog instrumentation circuit PCBAs using Altium Designer.
Develop test strategies and plans in collaboration with flight HW designers and other engineering disciplines.
PCBA and other HW manufacturing, design validation, and integration of automated test systems.
Circuit simulation and analysis in SPICE, Excel, etc.
Support SW engineers in the development of automated test control software.
Execute flight hardware qualification and production acceptance testing including ambient functional and environmental tests.
Support DUT anomaly resolution.
Contribute to the development of engineering and production best practices to support most efficient manufacturing.
What you bring to this role:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar.
10+ years of experience in electronics hardware development and testing including schematic capture, PCB layout, hardware characterization testing, and automated test implementation.
Proficiency with electrical test equipment including power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, etc.
Strong documentation skills for test procedures, results, analysis, etc.
Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.
Bonus points for the following:
Programming skills in Python, Tcl, and C/C++.
Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
Experience with mechanical design in Solidworks.
Experience with radiation effects testing.
This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 annually. The total compensation packaged will be determined by various factors such as your relevant job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in‑orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow‑ed.
