Title: Staff Power Electrical Engineer
Location: San Francisco Bay Area – onsite 5 days a week
Duration: Full Time
Pay Range: $160,000.00/yr – $200,000.00/yr
Job Description Own the development of a spacecraft solar-battery charging system from clean sheet to flight.
Develop and implement PCBA requirements, use‑cases, and system integration.
Responsibilities
Schematic capture and PCB layout for solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, telemetry, and other circuits using Altium Designer.
Circuit analysis including power related, SWaP, tolerance, and reliability related.
PCBA design verification testing, qualification testing, and system integration testing.
Lead design reviews for inter-disciplinary audiences.
Manufacturing and flight support as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in power electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
Expertise in solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits.
Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex PCBAs.
Skilled at performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel.
Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.
Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.
Nice‑To‑Have Skills & Experience
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience designing for space environments including radiation impacts and mitigation.
Proficiency with Altium Designer.
Experience designing rigid‑flex PCBs and general electro‑mechanical design familiarity.
Scripting skills in Python, Tcl, etc.
