The Global Marketing Engines and Experiences (E&E) team within Microsoft is responsible for delivering integrated marketing experiences for Microsoft by building, running, and innovating a globally scaled engine to deliver connected journeys that delight customers and create fans. The Marketing Analytics and Data Science team within E&E enables data-driven decision making by providing data products and insights that measure marketing’s performance and impact, deepen understanding of customer behavior, and drive marketing efficiency and ROI.

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Data Analyst who thrives at the intersection of data, digital marketing, and business impact - someone who can transform complex data across multiple systems into clear narratives that influence strategic marketing and investment decisions.

As a Senior Marketing Data Analyst in E&E, you will be responsible for the creation of intelligent tools, analysis and insights that deliver results to product marketers and sales partners with rapidly evolving requirements. You will connect data across Microsoft’s marketing ecosystem, including Adobe, Marketo, Sprinklr, and Event Registration systems, to attribute marketing efforts to key outcomes like registrations and pipeline performance. You’ll design end-to-end attribution frameworks that clarify the true impact of channels such as email, social, and paid media on demand generation performance. You’ll also deliver executive-ready dashboards and automated insights, through agentic enablement, empowering marketing leaders to make faster, more informed decisions about where to invest.

Responsibilities Channel Attribution & Marketing Impact

Build and optimize attribution models that connect social, paid, and email channels to registrations, event attendance, and pipeline outcomes.

Integrate and normalize data across Adobe, Marketo, Sprinklr, and event systems to create a unified view of marketing performance.

Identify patterns and correlations in multichannel engagement data to inform targeting and media optimization strategies.

Executive Reporting & Insights

Develop automated, executive-ready dashboards that clearly communicate marketing performance, ROI, and channel contribution to business outcomes.

Partner with demand generation and product marketing teams to translate insights into recommendations that improve channel efficiency and engagement quality.

Deliver recurring reporting packages that support leadership decision cycles and business planning rhythms.

Analytics Development & Enablement

Design and implement scalable reporting tools and self-service dashboards that democratize access to performance insights.

Collaborate with Data Services to ensure underlying datasets are accurate, compliant, and ready for analytical use.

Apply statistical and analytical techniques (e.g., regression, time-series forecasting) to assess campaign effectiveness and predict performance trends.

Storytelling & Business Partnership

Transform data into compelling business narratives, bridging marketing activity, customer behavior, and measurable business impact.

Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product marketing, and media teams to inform investment and optimization decisions.

Serve as a subject matter specialist on channel attribution and social performance analytics across E&E.

Qualifications Required / Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.

4+ years of hands‑on experience analyzing B2B marketing performance data, with a focus on attribution modeling, social media engagement metrics, and awareness of paid media/acquisition campaigns.

4+ years experience proven ability to integrate and interpret multi-touch attribution data, lead and account-level profiles, and marketing/sales funnel analytics from disparate sources (CRM, ad platforms, social channels, and internal data systems).

4+ years of experience applying quantitative methods, data modeling, and statistical techniques to optimize marketing ROI and channel performance.

4+ years building attribution frameworks and incrementality testing for paid and organic social campaigns.

4+ years writing efficient, readable, and extensible code for data processing and modeling.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. For the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
