Responsibilities As a valued member of our team, you will:
Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
Work in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous team‑based care.
Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review/orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, chemotherapy prescribing, formulate and manage patient treatment plans.
Educate patients and families on care and available resources, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team—admitting instructions, treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge plans.
Provide psychosocial support to patients, their families, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
Opportunity to serve in the OR as surgical assist.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
1–2 years of oncology experience preferred.
Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in process of obtaining.
ACLS/BLS (as required) certification.
DEA License.
