Faculty Physician – Pediatric Neonatology (Assistant or Associate Professor, Academic Track)
The Division of Neonatology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full‑time board‑certified/eligible Neonatal‑Perinatal Physician at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor on the Academic Track. The successful candidate will provide clinical service at the MHealth Fairview NICUs located at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital and community sites.
About the Appointment Position serves the Level IV NICU in the Masonic Children’s Hospital (UMMCH), three Level III NICUs at MHealth Fairview Southdale, Ridges, and St. John’s Hospitals, and a Level II NICU at MHealth Fairview Woodwinds Hospital. Potential service at Children’s Minnesota NICUs via contract.
The UMMCH NICU is a comprehensive Level IV unit that serves a five‑state region, providing care for all acuity levels, including ECMO, peritoneal and hemodialysis, general and cardiovascular surgery, and therapeutic hypothermia.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care in Newborn Intensive Care Units.
Supervise, mentor, and instruct advanced practice providers, medical students, residents, and fellows.
Participate in curriculum development.
Engage in research related to neonatal nutrition, neurodevelopment, hematology, global neonatology, ethics, infection/immunology, and education.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and a Neonatal‑Perinatal fellowship program.
Board eligible or certified in Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine.
Licensed or able to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure.
Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
Meeting threshold criteria for Credentialing and Privileges.
Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. work authorization from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Demonstrated clinical experience in newborn intensive care and research interests in aforementioned fields.
Pay and Benefits This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market‑competitive and based on AAMC benchmarks. Clinical salary through M Physicians ranges from $240,000 to $361,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional salary from the University depends on academic effort.
