Summary
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager I
to provide overall leadership direction to one large project or multiple projects, including management of project quality, timeliness, safety, and mentorship of the project team. The role involves developing and improving customer relationships by providing excellent service and communicating effectively at all levels. The candidate must remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient, maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Supervise overall financial health of projects
Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings
Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections
Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assign jobs and provide training
Act as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative
Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals
Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Minimum eight years of construction management/project management or related experience
Ability to manage multiple, large complex projects
Strong listening and communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback
Basic understanding of construction law and accepted business practices
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, project, and relevant web applications
Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Current driver’s license

Base pay range
The base pay range for this role is $140,800–$211,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%; Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – 10%; Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
