Job Overview The Chief Weapons Technology Officer (CTO) reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for S3’s technology strategy for weapons support. Located at the corporate headquarters in Research Park, Huntsville, AL, the CTO will lead the development and execution of weapon system enhancements and coordinate with the parent and subsidiary leadership to align strategies.

Responsibilities

Develop program strategy to support the Golden Dome program and product requirements.

Develop teaming strategy to secure contract positions that support changes in offensive/defensive program developments and reorganizations.

Evaluate current contracts, products, and customer positions for scalability to new defense weapon requirements.

Manage government-funded missile, aviation, and space product development, C4ISR, IBCS, system engineering, and integration for offensive and defensive solutions.

Assume P&L accountability, team building for innovative solutions, direct customer interaction, proposal generation and presentation, and international business operations.

Coordinate with parent and subsidiary leadership on strategies that benefit all business units.

Qualifications

BS/MS degree in engineering; PhD preferred.

Minimum 25 years of post‑Bachelor degree experience in defense product enhancement through technical program management, with at least 10 years in industry.

At least 5 years of experience as a CTO for a defense contractor supporting the requirements of this position.

Experience performing in the technology development accountability role of a corporation of greater than 600 employees.

At least 3 years of experience managing defense contracts as a PM with P&L accountability.

Must have developed and briefed a technology business strategy to corporate leadership within the last 3 years.

Must have an active Secret security clearance.
