Airport MEP/ Renewal & Replacement

is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of complex airport capital improvement projects focused on the renewal and replacement of MEP systems. This individual plays a key role in ensuring that building systems are upgraded safely, efficiently, and in a manner that minimizes operational disruptions in secure and sensitive airport environments. Your leadership ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget and meet or exceed the quality standards expected by our clients and stakeholders. Your management helps enhance our company’s reputation for delivering top-tier construction and development projects. Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day management of airport MEP R&R projects from planning through construction and closeout. Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Coordinate with airport stakeholders to develop phasing and work plans that minimize operational impacts. MEP Technical Oversight

Provide oversight and direction for the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, fire protection, lighting, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems. Review design documents and submittals for constructability, maintainability, and compliance with airport standards. Troubleshoot complex system issues and evaluate lifecycle cost considerations. Stakeholder & Airport Operations Coordination

Work closely with airport operations, security, facilities, and tenants to schedule work and manage access to secure and occupied areas. Facilitate coordination meetings with internal teams, contractors, engineers, and permitting authorities. Procurement & Contract Management

Participate in contractor selection and procurement strategies (e.g., CMAR, Design-Bid-Build). Monitor contractor performance and adherence to scope, safety, quality, and cost. Lead contract negotiations, RFIs, change orders, and issue resolution. Construction Phase Oversight

Provide field oversight during construction to monitor progress, safety, and quality. Coordinate system shutdowns, cutovers, and integration into airport operations. Ensure timely testing, commissioning, and turnover of systems to airport facilities staff. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare monthly status reports including budget, schedule, risk, and construction progress updates. Maintain project documentation, decision logs, meeting minutes, and closeout records. Support executive briefings and capital program reporting requirements. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 7 – 12 years of experience managing infrastructure or building system renewal projects, with at least 5 years in an airport environment. Demonstrated experience delivering MEP R&R projects in secure, active, and operationally sensitive facilities. Familiarity with FAA, TSA, and airport authority protocols and project delivery standards. Strong understanding of building codes, NFPA standards, and commissioning processes. Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and PMIS tools (e.g., PMWeb, Unifier, e-Builder). Preferred Qualifications

PE, PMP, or CCM certification. Experience with CMAR or Design-Build project delivery methods. Experience with terminal modernization, air handling unit upgrades, BMS controls integration, and electrical resiliency programs. Previous experience managing projects within AOA (Airport Operations Area) or SIDA zones. Key Competencies
