Director of Enrollment Management – Imperial Valley
San Diego State University (SDSU) is seeking an experienced Director to lead recruitment, admissions, and registration operations at the Imperial Valley campus. The role drives enrollment strategy, controls admissions operations, and collaborates with community partners to increase student access. The position reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services with a dotted line to the Dean of the Imperial Valley Campus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop staff overseeing admissions, recruitment, and registrar operations.
Design and implement strategic recruitment plans that increase access and attract students from Imperial County and beyond.
Collaborate with campus and community partners to promote SDSU‑IV’s academic programs.
Oversee admissions operations—applicants processing, transcript review, communication—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Monitor enrollment trends and coordinate with academic leadership to align course availability with demand.
Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to support enrollment goals.
Represent SDSU‑IV at community events, college fairs, and outreach programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education enrollment management or college admissions.
Experience advising or counseling diverse, under‑represented, and first‑generation students is desirable.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
Experience managing staff and overseeing operations in a complex or collective‑bargaining environment.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs.
Strong leadership, communication, public‑speaking, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of university systems, enrollment policies, and experience with student information systems and CRM platforms.
Ability to travel, travel evenings or weekends as needed for recruitment/outreach.
Deep knowledge of Imperial County demographics and educational trends preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $80,000 – $96,000 per year. Benefits include generous leave, retirement (CalPERS), comprehensive health coverage, tuition assistance, and voluntary benefits.
Employment Type & Location Full‑time, at‑will. San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus; occasional travel to San Diego Main campus.
