WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING AN ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER FOR OUR BLEECKER LOCATION
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for leading the store team in close partnership with the Store Manager to ensure that all objectives set forth by the company are achieved. The role includes customer service excellence, client development, visual merchandising standards, operational standards, recruitment, coaching, training, and when the Store Manager is absent, overseeing all aspects of the store.
Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities
Leadership:
Set the example for exceptional customer service.
Conduct yourself as James Perse brand ambassador.
Partner with the Store Manager to drive sales goals and store KPIs.
Represent and reinforce company standards.
Ensure staff are fluent in product knowledge and brand messaging.
Identify product, sales, and team development opportunities.
Maintain local market knowledge and awareness of trends.
Develop partnerships in the local community.
Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues.
Sales:
Coach staff to exceed individual sales goals (UPT, ADT, etc.).
Ensure customers are priority.
Guide associates in product styling and upsell.
Incorporate James Perse lifestyle into sales.
Build and develop customer base.
Work with Manager to create and execute sales strategies.
Customer Experience:
Prioritize customer experience.
Lead clienteling activities.
Ensure fitting room assistance and seamless POS execution.
Elevate customer service standards.
Support staff in personalized service.
Resolve customer issues.
Staff Management & Development:
Manage all business aspects absent Store Manager.
Conduct store meetings.
Enforce wardrobe standards.
Represent brand on floor.
Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
Communicate company expectations.
Follow up on staff goal achievement.
Maintain coaching and counseling records.
Conduct performance appraisals.
Operational Responsibilities:
Open and close the store.
Maintain store cleanliness and maintenance.
Uphold visual merchandising.
Process merchandise movements.
Support product replenishment.
Prepare daily/weekly reports.
Manage timekeeping.
Coordinate inventory counts.
Ensure compliance with company policies.
Principal Skills, Knowledge, And Personal Attributes
Strong computer skills (MS Office).
Teamwork / retail system skills.
Foreign language skills a plus.
Ability to relocate preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum 3‑4 years in retail sales or related field, with at least 2 years supervisory responsibility.
Education
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
College degree preferred.
Compensation & Benefits This position pays
$80,000
annually plus potential monthly bonus based on store sales.
