Experience using facilities management software. Experience in a large academic, residential, healthcare, or similar setting. Brief Description Of Duties
The Senior Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Campus Operations and Maintenance and provides leadership for the operation and management of all campus and residential facilities. The role sets the strategic vision for facilities, site work, and establishes effective policies and procedures across Campus Operations & Maintenance and Residential Operations. The Senior Director collaborates closely with senior leadership—including the Vice President for Facilities and Services and the Assistant Vice President for Campus Residences—and serves as a liaison to Campus Planning, Environmental Health & Safety, and the Faculty Student Association. Responsibilities include guiding staff, fostering partnerships, and preparing high-level reports. Responsibilities
Personnel:
Oversee staffing needs, recruitment, training, supervision, performance management, and staff development. Strategic Planning:
Lead long‑range planning for Campus Operations & Residential Operations aligned with university goals. Policy & Administration:
Assist with policy development, departmental goals, and operational improvements; represent the Associate Vice President on committees. Operations Management:
Direct daily maintenance and custodial operations for academic, residential, and off‑site facilities; oversee trade shops, grounds, snow removal, elevators, and building managers. Budget Management:
Manage operating budgets, expenditures, and minor construction projects; monitor financial performance and address shortfalls. Campus Partnerships:
Collaborate with Campus Recreation and other departments to support student experience and operational needs. Safety & Training:
Develop and enforce safety, quality control, and compliance standards; oversee departmental training programs. Work Order Management:
Ensure work is tracked in the INFOR system, inspections are completed, and workload is balanced. Project Support & Emergencies:
Consult on new projects, coordinate with CPDC, and oversee response during campus emergencies. Other Duties:
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Special Notes
This is a full‑time appointment. The position is FLSA exempt. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
