About the Role Wick Phillips is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Finance associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a background mixed with real estate finance and asset-backed finance experience. The attorney will work collaboratively with partners and associates in the transactional group, providing top-tier legal representation and advisory services to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of finance law, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The finance attorney will draft and review legal documents, communicate with clients and other stakeholders, and conduct legal research in the best interest of the client. Responsibilities Negotiate, draft, review, and revise borrower and lender-side finance documents and agreements on behalf of clients Review perfection certificates and title and survey Conduct and coordinate legal due diligence and research efficiently Summarize agreements, identify key issues, and provide actionable insights Work on complex transactions, including real estate and asset backed financings with loan sizes from $1MM to $1B Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and legal staff to ensure successful execution of complex legal matters Manage transaction checklists, projects, and deadlines to ensure timely completion Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Accurately track and record billable hours for client matters Uphold and embody the firm’s core values in all professional activities Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas 7+ years of relevant finance law experience Familiarity with various types of collateral and the related security interest mechanisms Familiarity with corporate governance documents Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships at all levels Proactive approach to problem-solving with exceptional attention to detail and ability to consider alternative solutions Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Technologically proficient with experience using legal software and tools, including Westlaw/Practical Law, iManage, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite Physically able to lift and carry 10-40 pounds, move between floors, sit for extended periods, and perform office-related physical activities as needed Your personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
