AECOM Advisory is seeking a dynamic

Manager

(Managing Consultant/Engagement Manager) to support our growing global Advisory business line. We are recruiting for this role in the following locations: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL. Building off AECOM’s expertise in infrastructure design and implementation, AECOM Advisory acts as a trusted adviser to senior level clients and executive teams on enterprise and strategic needs. Projects range from policy and planning initiatives to complex analytics and performance improvements across the infrastructure, built environment, and community vibrancy sectors. You will join a fast-paced and supportive team of diverse consulting professionals. Responsibilities

Build client relationships and manage interactions throughout the engagement lifecycle, bringing clients into engagement delivery and iteratively building their buy-in.

Coordinate inputs from regional leadership, Directors, Client Account Managers, and technical experts to flag key delivery choices, considerations and risks related to technical scope, client satisfaction, and commercial constraints.

Independently tailor existing analytical frameworks and methodologies for client-specific needs.

Collaborate with leadership to architect new analytical frameworks and methodologies for novel client needs.

Drive and supervise delivery teams of 5-8 Consultants and Senior Consultants across multiple inter-dependent workstreams.

Apply and hypothesize solution frameworks to deconstruct and analyze client problems.

Leverage AI tools to conduct baseline assessments and secondary research.

Conduct stakeholder interviews, including with C-suite clients and senior management.

Conduct business modelling (market sizing, segmentation, penetration, adoption) and investment analysis using custom Excel models (DCF, CBA, EBITDA, NPV, IRR, CAGR).

Use analytical and data visualization tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau) to derive patterns and inform recommendations.

Create polished executive-ready decks to convey data-driven insights.

Synthesize inputs into coherent insights across formats (slides, narratives, playbooks, dashboards, toolkits).

Proactively coach and mentor junior staff on core consulting skills.

Business development and capture

Support Capture Managers with proposal responses, including narrative development, solution design, pricing, team definition, subcontractor engagement, risk review, and compliance.

Create pitch decks and define AECOM Advisory’s value proposition.

Apply commercial awareness to client needs and budgeting considerations.

Desired competencies

Functional experience in areas such as data science techniques, geospatial analysis, and economic modelling tools.

Proficiency with Stata, R, Python and data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau).

Domain expertise in corporate strategy, market analysis, performance improvement, or capital projects advisory.

Experience with decarbonization, climate action, resilience strategies and/or economic development initiatives.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree.

At least 6 years of management consulting or corporate strategy experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred: MBA or related master’s degree.

Fluency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Technical skills with ArcGIS, R, Python, or other quantitative tools.

Experience evaluating financial cashflows, including public finance, via Excel.
