RTX is an aerospace and defense company that provides advanced systems and services worldwide. This position is part of the RTX Corporate Communications Team.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute advocacy communications strategies to advance RTX defense policy and business priorities leveraging thought leadership, media relations, marketing, third‑party advocacy, crisis response, digital advocacy, and coalition building. Ensure alignment with RTX Business Unit, RTX Communications, and Global Government Relations goals and use performance metrics to optimize effectiveness.
Partner closely with the RTX Communications COEs and subject‑matter experts in Global Government Relations and Business Units to shape policy outcomes through Public Affairs solutions targeting the Executive Branch, U.S. Congress, and the Department of Defense.
Support policy‑focused thought leadership to position RTX as a leader in key defense issues, working with tier 1 media organizations and think tanks.
Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to inform the company’s response on pressing issues and support reputation management.
Integrate policy communications strategies into defense‑specific RTX Communications campaigns, collaborating across COEs to develop stakeholder mapping and policy messaging.
Produce communications deliverables (talking points, key messages, prep packages, speeches, holding statements, etc.) in coordination with business partners and COEs to support public affairs strategies.
Qualifications You Must Have
University degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Public Relations or related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and at least 10 years of experience, or 16 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
U.S. citizenship required.
Prior project‑management experience delivering strategic communications solutions in matrixed organizations.
Initiative to deliver effective, creative, outcome‑driven public affairs solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent judgment for risk mitigation and reputation management.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution and to advise senior stakeholders.
Qualifications That We Prefer
Proven track record of executing public affairs and/or policy communications solutions that influence policy outcomes.
Experience collaborating with functional teams and internal/external stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities on tight deadlines.

Salary Range:
$162,000 – $326,000 USD (good faith estimate). Pay includes base salary, incentive compensation, and benefits as described.
