Associate Director, Public Affairs for Commercial and Civil (Onsite) Join RTX’s Corporate Communications Team to help develop and execute advocacy communications strategies that support RTX’s defense policy and business objectives. In this role you will collaborate across RTX Business Units, Communications, and Global Government Relations to drive policy outcomes and present RTX’s positioning to the U.S. Executive branch, Congress, and Department of Defense.

What You Will Do

Develop and execute advocacy communications strategies to advance RTX defense policy and business priorities using thought leadership, media relations, marketing, third‑party advocacy, crisis response, digital advocacy, and coalition building.

Partner with RTX Communications centers of excellence, Global Government Relations and Business Units to shape policy outcomes through Public Affairs solutions.

Support policy‑focused thought leadership, positioning RTX as a thought leader in key defense issues.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to inform the company’s response on pressing issues and support reputational management.

Integrate policy communications strategies into defense‑specific RTX Communications Campaigns.

Develop and maintain communications deliverables such as talking points, key messages, prep packages, speeches, holding statements, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have

University degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Public Relations or related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 10 years of experience, or 16 years of experience if no degree.

U.S. citizenship required.

Previous project‑management experience delivering strategic communications solutions in matrixed organizations.

Initiative to deliver effective, creative public‑affairs solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent judgment for risk mitigation and reputation management.

Strategic and tactical thinking; trusted advisor to influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications We Prefer

Proven track record of executing public‑affairs or policy communications solutions that influence policy outcomes.

Experience collaborating with functional teams and internal/external stakeholder groups.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Apply Salary range: $162,000 - $326,000 USD. Benefits and compensation are based on experience and location.
