Job Description Health & Safety Manager – Northampton Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Northampton, with travel to sites across the UK
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all health, safety and environmental (HSE) activities across multiple construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate safety professional who wants to make a real impact — driving a positive safety culture, leading best practice, and ensuring that every project is delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and continuously improve company HSE policies, procedures and standards.
Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations, ISO 45001 and current UK Health & Safety legislation.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and training to enhance health and safety awareness across all teams.
Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors and clients to maintain high standards of safety performance.
Produce regular reports and performance metrics for senior management.
Drive continuous improvement through innovation, learning and engagement.
About You We’re looking for a motivated and confident professional who can inspire others to work safely and responsibly.
Essential Requirements
NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent).
Chartered or Graduate Member of IOSH.
Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety and CDM Regulations.
5+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction sector.
Proven ability to influence, engage and coach teams at all levels.
Excellent communication, reporting and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable
ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification.
Experience working on large industrial, logistics or commercial construction projects.
