Position Description Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, building, deploying and scaling complex self-running ML solutions in areas like computer vision, perception, localization etc. They also automate and optimize the end-to-end ML model lifecycle using their expertise in experimental methodologies, statistics, and coding for tool building and analysis. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include data analytics for key launch business metrics.

Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand current and future ML requirements

Design and develop innovative ML models and software algorithms to solve complex business problems in both structured and unstructured environments

Design, build, maintain and optimize scalable ML pipelines, architecture and infrastructure

Use machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy

Adapt machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, object detection, tracking, classification, terrain mapping, and others.

Train and re‑train ML models and systems as required

Deploy ML models and algorithms into production and run simulations for algorithm development and test various scenarios

Automate model deployment, training and re‑training, leveraging principles of agile methodology, CI/CD/CT (Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment/ Continuous Training) and MLOps

Enable model management for model versioning and traceability to ensure modularity and symmetry across environments and models for ML systems

Skills Required

Python - The person should have intermediate skills with Python. For example, in their daily tasks, they can be expected to use Python for:

Data extraction & quality profiling

Data transformation using clean‑up and normalization (aggregation with pandas)

Data visualization using statistical insights (e.g. statistical data correlations, pivot tables), so as to capture analytical insights for stakeholders

Forecasting - Candidate should have an understanding of applied statistics and exposure to some analytical forecasting tools (e.g. scikit‑learn or stats models, Excel Solver and/or introductory exposure to Python OR libraries [PuLP, OR‑Tools]).

Experience Required

Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field preferred)

Minimum of one year of recent automotive/other professional experience

Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling

Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively for research, problem‑solving, and code generation

Strong critical thinking skills to validate AI‑generated outputs and integrate them with business context, based on professional and/or academic knowledge

Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

Able to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization, including senior leadership

Strong ability to analyze and interpret data and provide actionable insights

Highly organized and able to work in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities and diverse scopes

Results‑oriented mindset with proven ability to deliver insights on tight timelines

Experience Preferred

Launch experience in automotive new model programs

Familiarity with AI‑powered development tools (VS Code, Jupyter Notebook, GitHub Copilot, etc)

Experience with using AI models to drive research and deliver solutions

Knowledge of data processing & visualization libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.)

Experience with SQL and database querying

Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Basic statistical and forecasting knowledge, simulation concepts, fundamentals of optimization and scenario analysis

Exposure to scikit‑learn or stats models, Excel Solver and/or introductory exposure to Python OR libraries (PuLP, OR‑Tools) is a plus

Ability to translate technical findings into executive‑ready business recommendations

Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, cleanse, and interpret data using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint/database data, utilizing Python for analytics

AI‑Assisted Research & Insights: Leverage AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to conduct competitive analysis, research industry trends, explore analytical methodologies, and generate data‑driven recommendations

Python Automation: Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive data processing tasks, validate data quality, and accelerate analytical workflows

Presentation Development: Create and prepare executive‑level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint that translate complex data findings into clear business recommendations

AI‑Enhanced Deliverables: Use AI assistants to refine narratives, validate assumptions, troubleshoot code, and ensure analytical rigor in final deliverables

Business Plan Support: Support New Model Programs Business Plan Review forum with Global and Regional Directors by delivering actionable insights and data‑backed recommendations
