Meat Manager role at Albertsons Market. Reports To: Store Director. Location: Retail Stores. Department: Meat. Position Type: Hourly, Bonus Eligible. Date: May 2023. Duties and Responsibilities
As a Meat Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations and sales of the meat department and contribute to a high-quality customer experience. Responsibilities focus on people management, product quality, and customer service. Supervise, train, and schedule meat department staff (meat cutters and meat clerks). Cut, trim, and prepare high-quality meat products; ensure merchandising and display integrity. Deliver exceptional customer service to earn customer loyalty. Review reports and identify successes and opportunities. Physical and General Requirements Provide high-quality customer service according to company standards. Oversee operations and staffing of the Meat Department. Apply and enforce company policies regarding food, employee, and customer safety. Review reports and identify opportunities for improvement. Follow division guidelines for merchandising program implementation. Perform monthly inventory of sales floor and backroom. Additional Physical and General Requirements (continued) Maintain accurate inventory and records; suggest inventory and pricing changes. Write meat orders; check deliveries for accuracy and quality. Cull meat cases daily per division guidelines; inspect displayed products for expired dates. Follow division markdown program; safely use grinder, tenderizer, saw, and knives. Adhere to internal and regulatory food safety requirements (e.g., daily temperature and tare logs). Create signage for displays and assist with special customer cuts. Adhere to uniform and grooming policy. Job Qualifications
Knowledge of different cuts of meat; experience as a meat wrapper/clerk or meat cutter. Experience in department operations and staff management. Ability to operate saws, grinders, and other meat-processing machinery. Ability to use computer systems to check communications, bulletins, and reports. Excellent customer service skills; ability to follow instructions and understand guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Self-motivated and eager to increase product knowledge and share with customers. Regular and predictable attendance; flexibility with early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compliance with workplace conduct standards. Physical Requirements
