What you’ll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree, 4 years of related work experience or equivalent military experience

4 years of combined experience in sales, national sales, third‑party logistics (3PL), LTL, project management and/or logistics

Understanding of SPIN selling or other needs‑based selling models

Experience in contract negotiation

Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM tools

A valid driver’s license

Preferred qualifications

Availability to travel up to 75% of the time

6 years of combined experience in sales, national sales, 3PL, LTL, project management and/or logistics

Previous experience selling to the food and beverage industry

Ability to understand competitor strategies, products and pricing patterns

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to listen actively and respond to questions with complete and accurate answers

What you’ll do on a typical day

Grow LTL freight revenue in the food and beverage vertical, focusing on grocers and grocery consolidation services

Develop and manage strategies to attract new customers and grow wallet share with existing customers

Secure approved and/or preferred status with grocers who ship LTL

Lead effective negotiations by identifying options, interests, criteria, and alternatives of each party

Manage a pipeline of opportunities using CRM while maintaining complete and accurate records of customer information and sales activity

Work with all sales channels to identify customer pain points and develop customer‑specific solutions using our premium services portfolio

Develop and maintain deep and wide relationships with customers and prospects across multiple functions through regular email, phone, face‑to‑face contact, and business reviews

Salary ranges Employees are paid within a salary range based on experience, skill set, and market.

New York – $108,798 to $129,198

California – $113,744 to $135,071

Washington State – $108,798 to $129,198

Maryland – $108,798 to $129,198

Minnesota – $98,908 to $117,453

Illinois – $103,853 to $123,325

New Jersey – $113,744 to $142,180

Vermont – $98,908 to $117,453

Massachusetts – $108,798 to $129,198
