Job Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for varied duties involved in the shipping of merchandise to customers, such as properly packaging, calculating shipping costs, recording shipping information, and administrative duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products.
Shift: 2nd shift - 2:15PM - 11:00PM (Mon - Fri)
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving incoming shipments and goods. Ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment. Physically unwrapping orders, visually inspecting product, and ensuring accuracy of the incoming shipments. Processing and packaging product and orders for shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures. Ensuring that materials are in proper locations. Assisting in loading and unloading trucks in a safe manner. Checking incoming goods against bills of loading, packaging slips, etc. Verifying nomenclature, identification, and quantity. Maintaining records of goods received. Determining storage areas for incoming shipments and allocating appropriate space within the warehouse. Assisting in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervising storage activities. Operating forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment to move parts to proper locations and load and unload freight trucks as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as Stand Up Forklift (Certification is not required - will train) Ability to operate a forklift Valid driver's license & clean driving record Ability to lift/carry 1 - 50 lbs. High School Diploma or equivalent At least 6 months experience performing similar work
