Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in retail sales preferred.
Experience performing essential duties, responsibilities and working in the conditions described below.
Ability to supervise and train staff using equipment, tools and materials listed in the CSR and ASM job descriptions.
Ability to supervise and manage functions listed in the CSR and ASM job descriptions.
Ability to use a computer, or acquire necessary skills to use a computer at the site (analysis of reports, inventory control, cash control, counseling notices, etc.).
A valid driver’s license and adequate transportation to corporate management meetings.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by supervisor.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills
Leadership and Management
Recruit, hire and train positive, enthusiastic employees, ensuring excellent customer service.
Develop, manage and assign tasks appropriately to maintain a clean, stocked and well‑kept site based on company standards.
Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors.
Schedule employees within company guidelines to maximize customer service and site image.
Apply non‑discriminatory management skills while hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees.
Site Relationships
Develop positive professional relationships with suppliers.
Resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Promote a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
Training and Development
Prepare ongoing performance appraisals in writing for all employees, providing proper feedback.
Train employees to meet customer service, site image and marketing standards.
Train employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness.
Communication
Ensure all employees receive proper communication in a timely manner.
Hold regular communication meetings with all site employees and the Market Manager.
Organizing and Planning
Develop action plans to address site needs and meet objectives.
Organize and maintain site files and manuals.
Supervise employees to ensure accurate and timely completion of required reports.
Ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed and priced correctly.
Maintain required employment posters and signs in an accessible location.
Financial
Analyze daily sales and expenses; take action to maximize sales and net profits.
Budget and forecast P&L lines; manage merchandise margins.
Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
Perform all other financial analyses necessary to maximize sales and profits.
Working Conditions
Work predominantly indoors; occasional outdoor tasks (clearing parking lots, gas pumps, garbage, etc.).
Experience cold temperatures while supervising in walk‑in coolers and/or freezers.
Experience noise exposure.
Operate with minimal direction and supervision.
Act as an effective manager, supervisor and leader at all times.
