This position has a base salary range of $76,000 - 114,000 USD Annual. This range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.

Summary

A s a member of the Enterprise Data Governance Office (DGO), the role supports the effort to mature BCU data management practices including assisting various lines of business with understanding and managing their data.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Dr i v es Business Unit Data Governance organizations efforts by creating and maintaining Centralized Metadata Repository content including Business Glossary, Data Dictionaries, Data Lineage, and other metadata artifacts.
  • E nforces Metadata Standards for consistency across datasets.
  • L eads Metadata Management activities through collaborating and negotiating with other members of the
  • D ata Governance Organization, Data Custodians and Business Data Stewards.
  • S upports Data Management maturity enhancements of the organization by following the established Data
  • G overnance framework and roadmap.
  • E nsures quality and integrity of organizational metadata.
  • F acilitates collaboration between data owners and data stakeholders.
  • Pr o v i de training and support for data stewardship roles.
  • S upports Security and Compliance with adherence to all data related laws and regulations.
  • I dentifies, assesses, documents and helps with mitigation of data asset related risks.
  • C o ntinuously improves metadata management practices.
  • Ass i s t business units with their data related activities and respond to their data-related questions and concerns.
  • R espond to data-related questions and interpret policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, compliance, and privacy.
  • T r a i n and educate BCU employees on data management and governance processes and procedures.
  • P articipate in maintenance of BCU data related policies, standards, processes and procedures.
  • W o r k with Business Units to proactively monitor, measure, analyze, track and report on data quality and data quality issues.
  • C r eate and execute data quality processes and procedures.
  • S upport the maintenance of Data Quality management platform.
  • Maintain performance metrics for the Data Governance function.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • B achelor's degree in computer science, information management, software engineering or related field.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working with SQL or equivalent in educational experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst with exposure to data analysis or similar role, or in educational experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working with a reporting tool preferred. (PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, etc.)
  • A bility to work effectively across a matrixed environment.
  • S strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • S strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A natural sense of urgency, initiative and a positive team player attitude reflected in daily work ethics.
  • A bility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • F amiliarity with SharePoint and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.).
  • Understanding of relational databases.
