Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid Schedule)

Base pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Overview

Our organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting operations and oversee a team of four. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with grant and funding requirements, and strong internal controls that support our mission-driven work. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with nonprofit accounting expertise and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate work.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, budget‑to‑actual reports, and variance analyses.
• Manage annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state grant regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Partner with program and development teams to provide financial insight, reporting, and support for grant proposals and tracking.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Great Plains.
