The AV Field Engineer will be responsible for the on-site installation, integration, and commissioning of commercial audio-visual systems. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality system implementations for clients across corporate, education, government, and entertainment environments.
Salary: $85000-110000/yr
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and integrate professional AV systems including displays, projectors, video walls, sound systems, microphones, and control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, etc.)
Read and interpret AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and architectural plans to ensure accurate installation and system performance
Pull, terminate, and test cabling for audio, video, control, and network systems (Cat6, fiber, speaker wire, etc.)
Mount and secure AV components such as displays, racks, ceiling microphones, cameras, and loudspeakers in accordance with safety and quality standards
Perform system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to verify functionality and ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to identify and resolve technical issues during installation
Document system configurations, test results, and field modifications for project closeout packages
Provide on-site technical support, training, and guidance to junior installers and subcontractors
Ensure compliance with all company standards, safety policies, and manufacturer best practices
Requirements:
3+ years AV experience
Installation or integration experience
CTS preferred but not required
