The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate and organized inventory levels to support manufacturing and operations. This role performs routine and advanced inventory control duties including daily cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, reconciliation, and reporting. The position also supports physical inventory, assists with ERP transactions, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce write-offs, and improve efficiency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventory audits across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis; coordinate corrective actions with Operations and Supervision. Reconcile inventory variances using ERP and manual systems. Track and manage negative inventory, aging inventory, and E&O (Excess & Obsolete) materials. Monitor inventory classifications (e.g., “D” and “E” items) and update counts accordingly. ERP / System Transactions

Record/review inventory movements

in ERP system and maintain up-to-date data records. Perform manual inventory adjustments and assist in closing Manufacturing Orders (MOs) not automatically closed. Audit warehouse movements and daily receipts; follow up on issues found during receipt audits. Maintain location accuracy and help reconcile distribution locations and RMA processes. Inventory Accuracy & Process Improvement

Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining cycle count programs and inventory accuracy KPIs. Support the preparation and execution of physical inventories. Participate in kaizen events, lean initiatives, and inventory-related continuous improvement projects. Communication & Reporting

Prepare and distribute inventory reports such as inventory balances, shortages, and cycle count results. Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse teams to support on-time delivery and material availability. Provide timely updates and documentation in accordance with ISO/quality standards. Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Assist in staging, storing, and organizing materials accurately and efficiently. Ensure proper labeling and storage of inventory items to maintain warehouse organization and facilitate easy retrieval. Adhere to safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Assist in the physical movement of inventory during cycle counts, stock replenishment, and physical inventory processes. Assist in shipping/receiving organization as needed. Inventory Accuracy:

Ability to maintain precise stock levels and resolve discrepancies. ERP Proficiency:

Familiarity with ERP transactions, adjustments, and reporting. Communication:

Works well within teams; able to train and mentor peers. Ability to Obtain a Fork Truck License:

Must be capable of meeting the requirements to operate powered industrial trucks as needed. Primarily works on the production floor and in warehouse environments. Limited travel may be required. May provide work direction to support staff or lead small groups in cycle count tasks. All other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary coursework or technical training in supply chain or manufacturing preferred. 2–6 years of relevant experience in inventory control, warehousing, or materials management. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP/MRP systems. SCOPE

To maintain and ensure inventory control by performing cycle counts daily; to investigate and get to root cause of any discrepancies and to monitor inventory transactions in and out of the warehouse. To drive the physical inventory from a preparation and readiness standpoint and lead the floor in that function. To assist with other issues necessary for the successful operation of the facility.
