Inventory Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Location: Island Lake, IL (Onsite – Warehouse Environment)
Schedule: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $16–$30/hour (based on experience; potential for salary conversion)
About the Role We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support warehouse operations at our Island Lake facility. This position is based in the receiving booth (office space inside the warehouse) and is responsible for accurately receiving, processing, and verifying incoming materials and automotive parts.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term growth. The company is experiencing internal movement and small promotions, so the exact role may evolve based on experience and strengths.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments and verify correct quantities, part numbers, and material condition.
Enter and process receiving and shipping transactions within Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP system.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and receiving variances.
Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy and documentation.
Organize and stage incoming parts, identify damaged or nonconforming materials, and communicate issues promptly.
Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure timely flow of materials.
Maintain clean, organized receiving/office area within warehouse environment.
Assist with shipping preparation, labeling, and documentation as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Experience in shipping/receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
Strong attention to detail with ability to count, verify, and reconcile inventory.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (light physical work required).
Preferred:
Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) or similar ERP/inventory software.
Knowledge of automotive parts, especially chassis/frame, suspension, axles, spindles, knuckles, or driveline components.
Prior experience with cycle counts, inventory control, or material handling.
