This role will purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Qualify vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Track purchases, monitor vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information. Collaborate with others to ensure the flow of inventory is accurate and seamless. Will receive support and direction from Senior Chain Buyer and Planner as well as from Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities:
Review Material Resource Planning (MRP) reports and messages daily
Participate in cross functional meetings on product transitions and supply gaps with corrective actions identified
Assist in resolving escalations, aligning purchasing strategies, and ensuring best practices are followed
Participate in weekly supplier calls and meetings including reporting on the measurable status of supplier performance and progress
Assist in reviewing and resolving any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance, or quality issues
Negotiate pricing and drive for cost savings with suppliers
Provide buying and planning support to Visual Comfort business units as needed
Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems

Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule
Be fully present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, or similar quantitative field
4-6 years of professional experience as a Buyer in purchasing
Strong understanding of Business Analytics and Reporting principles and demonstrated ability to resolve problems through analysis of research, data, and business information
Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs, specifically with Material Resource Planning (MRP/DRP) Systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite
Negotiation, strategic sourcing, procurement, and value/cost analysis experience
Strong organizational, prioritization, time management, detail-orientation, and leadership skills
Proficiency in handling multiple tasks, projects and changing priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate excellent communication with customers, partners, vendors, and fellow employees across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
Achieve effective results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
Available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings to accommodate supplier calls as needed
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for this role
