Responsibilities
Executed quality control procedures to ensure analytical accuracy and consistency Complied with laboratory safety protocols at all stages of analysis Ensured all asbestos identification practices met EPA regulatory standards Conducted sample preparation, processing, and detailed documentation Performed analysis of bulk materials and thin-section slides for asbestos fibers using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) Identified asbestos mineral fibers and determined their optical properties and relative visual percentages Quantified asbestos content and identified other natural or synthetic components within samples Recorded asbestos-related observations and data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Other duties as assigned. Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Sciences or related field required. 2 years’ experience in PLM asbestos testing. Experience with lab safety protocols. Experience with fume hoods and PPE. PLM Asbestos training course desired. Benefits
