Position Summary
As a member of the International E‑D‑F team, you’ll be part of the Omni Replenishment team responsible for building and supporting high‑impact, mission‑critical systems for the world’s largest retailer. You’ll design, implement, and test code changes required for special business requirements, work with cross‑functional teams, handle monitoring issues, troubleshoot business and production issues, and contribute to best‑in‑class methodologies that impact the business.
What you’ll do
Translate requirements into solutions, write code, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and provide insights to think beyond the status quo.
Oversee small project teams, serve as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert.
Manage small to large‑size complex projects by reviewing requirements, creating technical solutions, evaluating ROI, and adding business value.
Participate in the discovery phase of projects to produce high‑level designs with product, project, business, and UX teams.
Apply up‑to‑date expertise to develop, execute, and improve action plans, providing expert advice and guidance.
Investigate business and production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, develop solutions, and drive action plans.
Implement business solutions by building relationships with stakeholders, identifying needs, and executing processes.
Help cross‑functional teams solve business problems and develop solutions that create best‑in‑class customer experiences.
Encourage project teams to work collaboratively toward insight‑driven outcomes.
About the Team Focusing on customer, associate, and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units operating in 23 countries.
What you’ll bring
Strong microservice architecture and design knowledge, including multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance tuning.
Expert knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and experience working with distributed systems and teams.
A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and maintainable code structure.
Knowledge of technologies used to build scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud environments.
Design for fault tolerance and high availability.
Proficiency with Kafka, Cassandra, Cosmos DB, SQL.
Experience with Spark (SQL, Streaming), Hadoop Map‑Reduce, and building big‑data ETL pipelines.
Experience with Maven, Git, Jenkins, and continuous integration.
DevOps skills for troubleshooting live applications and assessing performance bottlenecks on Linux.
Experience with Dataproc, Spark, and GCP.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering.
Alternatively, 4 years’ experience in software engineering.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java) and familiarity with distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related area.
Experience with implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences.
