The Montessori Academy of Chicago provides a nurturing, authentic Montessori education and parent community, enriching the lives of Chicago’s modern families and students. Located in Chicago’s West Loop, the Academy serves 300 students each day. We are accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) to serve children from 6 weeks through 6th grade. Currently in its 19th year of existence, MAC is looking for engaging and energetic teachers to help our Elementary program continue to grow as we move into a new chapter of the school’s history for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. The right person forthis role has a warm and welcoming personality and works with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism. This person must be fully and wholly dedicated to their students’ best interest and must be able to partner with parents collaboratively and with empathy. The ideal candidate is not only deeply passionate about teaching but inspired to creatively meet their students’ developmental needs.

Qualifications
Montessori certification in Elementary I [certification in both Elementary I and II encouraged]
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team effectively

Values and assists in the Academy’s efforts to promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

Job Details
School year (10 month) 3-year contract
Parent educational nights and community building events
Low student to teacher ratio
Work collaboratively with the Elementary department using ample resources available to create and implement engaging and innovative programming in addition to Montessori curriculum
Engaged and supportive long-tenured Administrative Team that works closely with the Department and is deeply committed to the success of this program
Collaboration with and support by onsite Achievement Resource Center (ARC) to effectively address individual student needs, promote social-emotional learning, and foster partnerships with families to promote positive school culture
