Overview Eastern Washington University seeks candidates for a professional Human Resources Associate. The Associate serves as the principal consultant for assigned client areas, supporting faculty, classified, exempt, and temporary employees in functional areas such as classification, compensation, employee relations, human resources information systems, organizational structure, recruitment, performance management, training, contracts, rule and policy advice. The primary focus is recruitment, with additional responsibilities in performance management, training, contract and policy advice, classification, compensation, employee relations, HR information systems, and organizational structure. The salary for this position is $68,277.60 (minimum) up to $79,000, with starting pay determined by education, experience, and skills. Responsible for the applicable position requisition, recruitment, and hiring processes for the assigned area; review position requisitions for quality, accuracy, and alignment with university standards; determine appropriate advertising media and timelines; utilize university systems such as PeopleAdmin and Job Elephant for hiring processes. Develop recruitment information, advertisements, and supplemental marketing materials; maintain updated information and statuses in university systems related to positions and applicants; provide search committee training; monitor recruitments and oversee applicant evaluation; screen applications; coordinate interview and hire approvals; generate applicant demographic reports; develop offer letters and contracts; maintain recruitment files and records in accordance with university and public records requirements. Collaborate with the Director of Labor Relations to advise employees, managers, and departments on HR functional areas; assist in problem resolution, performance development, personnel actions (e.g., layoff and separation); interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Participate in training as necessary and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Minimum of five years of human resources experience beyond entry-level in recruitment; performance management/training/coaching; organizational structure and restructuring; contract, rule and policy advising; classification, position development, and compensation; HR information systems (experience with systems such as PeopleAdmin and/or Banner). Technological Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); database management and HRIS; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; strong communication, discretion, confidentiality, and analytical problem-solving skills; ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels; customer service orientation; commitment to culturally responsive service; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: HR experience in a college or university setting Experience in an environment with collective bargaining Other Skills and Abilities

Conditions of Employment

This position may involve handling university funds or items of value and unsupervised access with vulnerable populations. The offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. All new employees must comply with EWU immunization policy and provide proof of immunity or vaccination where required. Waivers are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs. This is an Administrative Exempt position and is covered by EWU policies on exempt employment. After starting employment, required training is completed online or in person/Zoom.
