Job Summary
Eastern Washington University seeks a Human Resources Associate to serve as principal consultant for assigned client areas supporting faculty, staff, and temporary employees. The primary focus is on recruitment, with additional responsibilities in performance management, training, contract, rule and policy advice, classification, compensation, employee relations, HR information systems, and organizational structure.
Location
Cheney, WA (Campus). Full‑time, 12‑month per year.
Salary
$68,277.60 – $79,000 (dependent on education, experience, and skills).
Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, hiring processes for assigned areas, recommend advertising media, develop recruitment materials, and maintain applicant records.
- Assist employees at all levels, provide advice related to HR functional areas, interpret collective bargaining agreements, policies, and laws.
- Participate in training and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of five years HR experience beyond entry‑level in recruitment, performance management, organizational structure and restructuring, contract, rule and policy advising, classification, compensation, and HR information systems (PeopleAdmin/Banner).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, database management, and report generation.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- HR experience in a college or university setting.
- Experience in an environment with collective bargaining.
