General Gastroenterologist – Boston Medical Center Brighton
Location: Brighton, MA
Position Type: Full‑time
About The Role: Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston Medical Center Brighton are seeking a Board‑Certified/Board‑Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join our expanding GI service. This is a collaborative faculty position with clinical responsibilities primarily at BMC Brighton, while maintaining an academic and clinical affiliation with the Department of Gastroenterology at BMC and Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician with a strong interest in community‑based gastroenterology supported by the resources and academic environment of a major teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative gastroenterology care at BMC Brighton
Perform routine GI procedures including EGD and colonoscopy
Manage a wide range of GI conditions including GERD, liver disease, IBS, IBD, and GI bleeding
Participate in rotating inpatient coverage and call schedule
Collaborate with BMC’s tertiary GI team for advanced cases and referrals
Work alongside a multidisciplinary care team including advanced practice providers, GI nurses, and anesthesiology support
Optional Academic Involvement
Teaching opportunities with medical students and residents
Participation in clinical quality initiatives
Scholarly or research collaboration with BMC Department of Gastroenterology (if desired)
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Completion of ACGME‑accredited GI fellowship
Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts
Strong clinical skills with dedication to patient‑centered care
