Director of Sales
to lead our sales efforts, maximize revenue opportunities, and build strong relationships with corporate, group, and leisure clients.
Position Summary The
Director of Sales
is responsible for leading and executing the hotel’s sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share goals. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented leader who can develop business across all market segments while maintaining strong client relationships and representing the Hampton Inn Colchester brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize room revenue, group bookings, and overall hotel profitability.
Build and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, travel agencies, group organizers, and local community partners.
Conduct regular sales calls, site visits, and networking activities to generate new business opportunities.
Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and customer needs to adjust strategies accordingly.
Work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management team to forecast, budget, and achieve sales targets.
Oversee the creation of sales proposals, contracts, and promotional materials.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and industry networking opportunities.
Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to ensure performance excellence.
Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards and maintain a strong brand presence in the marketplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3–5 years of hotel sales experience; prior Hilton or select-service brand experience a plus.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficiency in hotel sales systems (Hilton OnQ, Delphi, or similar preferred).
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary:
$75,000 – $85,000 annually
