A global technology organization specializing in advanced motion systems and automation is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead worldwide product innovation, technical strategy, and organizational development. This executive will oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams across several international locations, driving the design and delivery of custom linear and rotary motion solutions for complex, high-precision applications.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in motor and actuator technologies with strong strategic leadership. This individual will guide the creation of both next‑generation and breakthrough products, open new market opportunities, and enhance the company’s position with existing global customers.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for a global, multi‑site engineering organization across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.

Define and implement the technology roadmap and innovation strategy supporting long‑term business growth.

Direct new product development (NPD) for motion control systems, including stepper and brushless DC motors, linear actuators, lead screw and nut assemblies, gear and drive mechanisms, and fully integrated motion subsystems.

Ensure design excellence through robust testing, validation, and reliability engineering processes.

Partner with commercial and operations leadership to align product development with customer and market needs.

Cultivate a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement within global engineering teams.

Engage with key customers to provide technical insight, conceptual design input, and engineering support for strategic projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience within motion control, automation, or electromechanical product development.

Proven success leading multi‑site, cross‑functional teams and managing complex product development programs.

Strong understanding of motor technologies (stepper, servo, BLDC), actuators, encoders, drive electronics, lead screws, and control systems.

Familiarity with mechanical/electronic CAD tools and exposure to firmware or embedded software development.

Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and develop high‑performing global teams.

Excellent communication, strategic planning, and organizational leadership skills.

Global perspective and willingness to travel internationally (approx. 25%).
