Ideal person will support the Energy Supply Projects group, managing capital projects at multiple power generation facilities within the region. This role focuses on planning, budgeting, and executing a mix of small to mid-size reliability projects, while also assisting with larger base and major capital efforts.
Although the title includes “Engineer,” this is primarily a
project management-focused role
that requires an engineering background. The position involves managing multiple projects from concept through completion, including developing scopes of work, coordinating contractors, procuring materials, and ensuring safe and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute
emergent and capital projects
across several power plant sites (up to ~20 smaller projects at once).
Collaborate with
operations and reliability engineering teams
to identify plant needs, develop project scopes, justifications, and cost estimates.
Lead projects through the internal
capital request and approval process , ensuring alignment with reliability goals and timelines.
Coordinate work with
contractors, vendors, and external engineering firms , including material procurement, scheduling, and installation activities.
Attend daily
POD meetings
to align on plant priorities and critical activities.
Prepare and manage all
project documentation , including specifications, bids, cost tracking, and closeout packages.
Monitor
budgets and expenditures , maintaining accuracy in financial reporting.
Uphold all
safety and operational compliance standards
throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive process improvements and contribute to plant reliability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering
(Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline).
2+ years
of engineering or project management experience within a
manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment .
Strong ability to
multi-task and prioritize
projects without sacrificing quality.
Excellent
interpersonal, communication, and collaboration
skills.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel).
Basic understanding of technical drawings and specifications (no CAD work required).
Willingness and ability to travel between plant sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Passed or pursuing the
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering)
exam.
Experience
managing contractors
or external vendors.
Prior exposure to
energy, utilities, or power generation projects .
Familiarity with
ProjectWise
or other document management systems.
